85′000 people over three days and two nights is quite something, and being part of this year Sonar was exciting to the say the least.
During the day we have followed some very interesting conferences (Scott Cohen from the Orchard, Jakob Lusensky from Heartbeats International and Marc Cuevas Layers.com amongst others) and also showed Thounds.com on web and on iPad at our booth.
On Friday afternoon we were due to run our demo session, and we then introduced the public to our public API release (find the documentation here) giving the opportunity to developers to build their own app that interact with our data, putting the basis of customization and personalization of new services too.
Taking the cue from this we showed an advanced prototype of our forthcoming radio which is streaming public thounds according their tags.
And at late evening came Sonar de noche, that was huge crowds, live gigs, DJ sets and performances all around to enjoy some fun after the daylight efforts…
Some very good videos can be found here (cut by Sonar themselves)

First edition of Music Italy Show is taking off this weekend, which is expected to be the biggest Italian exhibition devoted to musical instruments, editions, discography and technical musical equipment.
Thounds (as well as SplitGigs, the two H-Farm music startups) will join the “Music & Web in Italy?” workshop, on Saturday 15th May, starting at 14:30
Partecipants (including Vitaminic, Radio Deejay, Nokia, etc) will discuss how the evolving relationship between music and web is changing the rules of promoting, distributing and producing songs.
Korg, Nord, Casio, Numark, Ortofon, Fender, Boss, Gretsch, Vox, Zildjian and Roland are only a very small selection of brands that are showing this weekend in Bologna.
And last, we have two free tickets to give away to enter the show on Saturday.

Just two weeks time running, 17 versions submitted, 3213 plays and 383 unique votes gave Thounds first contest an exciting debut.
The band Velvet asked the Thounders to make their own version of the forthcoming single, so we got in the dance-y version, the classic rock cut, the experimental interpretation and many more.
Our community voted their favourite version through these days, and now that contest is closed we can announce …
And last, here is the promised preview for the EP artwork:
