Last Saturday at the Hack Italy in Milan hordes of Italian developers have gathered up and given 12 hours time to hack a group of web apps, namely Nokia OVI maps, Microsoft, Audiobox.fm, Play.me, Spreaker and Beintoo.
Our team with CTO Giovanni Cappellotto and friend Francesco Tartaggia (developer at H-Umus) built Thounds Map by hacking the OVI maps and Nokia just loved it so much they assigned us the first prize, a stunning N8 device.
Thounds Map does exactly what it’s in the name, it geolocalizes and streams music sketches on the atlas, and you can have a visual impact of where there is more music inspiration around you: Thounds Map:http://maps.thounds.com
Have you ever wanted to hack Thounds music?
Don’t miss the chance of being at the first Hack Italy event then, running in Milan on the 5th February 2011.
The event is sponsored by Microsoft, Nokia, Dada, 3Scale, Git Enterprise and Top-Ix and will give developers a unique opportunity to hack Italian apps in a 12h challenge.
The challenge:
A group of apps offer their API’s to deliver hacks and mashups (beside Thounds this will include Play.me, Microsoft, audiobox.fm, MusiXmatch, Spreaker, OVI Maps by Nokia, etc)
Ideas for your hack:
If you don’t know where to begin, we at Thounds would appreciate some of the following:
a map with geolocalization for Thounds tracks (i.e. mashup with Bing Maps or OVI maps)

Discover all the music on Thounds by just tuning in our new radio on http://thounds.fm!
Thounds radio is the first app since our public API release, it is a radio tuner with genre tags instead of frequencies, it’s never been easier to listen to original Hip Hop beats, Heavy Metal riffs, acoustic sessions and rock melodies.
